အမေရိကားမှာ နေထိုင်တာ ၃ နှစ်ကျော်ပြီ ဖြစ်တဲ့ နယူးဇီလန်က အသက် ၃၃ နှစ်အရွယ် Shaw ဆိုတဲ့ အမျိုးသမီးတစ်ဦးဟာ သူမရဲ့ကလေး ၃ ယောက်နဲ့ အတူ အားလပ်ရက်မှာ နယူးဇီလန်က မိဘတွေအိမ်ကို သွားရောက်လည်ပတ်ခဲ့ပြီး အမေရိကန်ကို ကုန်းလမ်းက အပြန် နယ်စပ်ဂိတ်တစ်ခုဖြစ်တဲ့ Blaine, Washington မှာ ပြီးခဲ့တဲ့ ၃ ပတ်ခန့်က ဖမ်းဆီးထိန်းသိမ်းခြင်း ခံခဲ့ရပါတယ်။

New Zealand woman and her 6-year-old son detained by ICE
A 33-year-old New Zealander named Shaw, who has lived in the United States for over three years, was detained by ICE at the Blaine, Washington border crossing upon returning to the U.S. by land. She was with her three children after a holiday visit to her parents' home in New Zealand.
After putting her two eldest children on a flight back to the U.S., Shaw and her youngest child were attempting to re-enter the country by land when she was detained by ICE for having an expired visa. Although Shaw held a "Combo Card," which combines the Employment Authorization Document (EAD) and Advance Parole (AP), she failed to notice that the AP portion had expired. The validity periods for these two permits are not the same.
The detention of Shaw and her 6-year-old son—and the fact that they were reportedly separated—has drawn criticism, with questions being raised internationally about America's values and human rights. This incident serves as a reminder for Myanmar citizens in the U.S. to be mindful of their movements and immigration status, and to apply for visa extensions well in advance of their expiration dates.
