Be Cautious of Scams Using the Asylum Access Name

In March 2025, a Mexican woman received a phone call from someone who offered to help her get a work visa for Canada. The caller claimed to be from the organization Asylum Access and arranged a meeting at an office located in a shopping center.

After the call, the woman looked up the address online and found that it was in a remote area, far from the city center. She then searched for the official Asylum Access website and contacted them directly, which is when she discovered the scam. Asylum Access confirmed that they do not make such job searches and only use the phone numbers listed on their official website.

Asylum Access has already issued a warning about these scams using their name. Investigations revealed that the office at the address provided by the scammers had already been closed before the investigation could be completed. Following the tightening of immigration policies in the U.S. and Canada, as well as worldwide, it's important to be aware of the increasing number of scams that misuse the Asylum Access name to offer help with visas and job searches.
