There are many amazing places to visit in China, such as the Great Wall and the Forbidden City in Beijing. With so many places to see, all you need to do is make the trip yourself. For that, you'll need to apply for a visa.

There are many types of Chinese visas, including L (Tourist), M (Business), F (Non-commercial Visit), Z (Work), X (Study), C (Crew), and G (Transit). However, the most used is the L visa, for tourism.

Although you can now apply for a Chinese visa online, you still need to visit the embassy in person to have your fingerprints taken for the final step. The embassy only accepts visa applications for entry within the next 90 days. If your entry date is more than 90 days away, you cannot apply.

If you are currently outside your home country, you can still apply for a Chinese visa at the Chinese Embassy or Consulate in the country you are in, if you hold a long-term visa for that country.
