U.S. to Increase Fees for Visa-Waiver Travelers by 90%

The Electronic System for Travel Authorization, or ESTA, is an online system that allows citizens of countries under the U.S. Visa Waiver Program to travel to the United States for up to 90 days without applying for a traditional visa. It was announced that the ESTA application fee for the 42 countries participating in this program will increase by 90%, from the current $21 to $40, effective September 30.

This change is due to the "One Big Beautiful Bill Act," signed into law by President Trump on July 4. Under this act, individuals crossing the border by land will be required to pay an additional $24 on top of the current $6 fee, totaling $30. For those arriving by air or sea, the fee will be the $40. These increased rates are for the 2025 fiscal year only, and there is a possibility of further increases annually based on inflation.

ဒီပြောင်းလဲမှုဟာ ဇူလိုင် ၄ မှာ ထရန့်က လက်မှတ်ရေးထိုးထုတ်ပြန်ခဲ့တဲ့ One Big Beautiful Bill Act ကြောင့် ဖြစ်ပါတယ်၊ နယ်စပ်ကနေ ဖြတ်သန်းတဲ့သူတွေအနေနဲ့ လက်ရှိပေးဆောင်နေရတဲ့ ၆ ဒေါ်လာအပြင် ၂၄ ဒေါ်လာ ထပ်ဆောင်းပေးရမှာမို့ စုစုပေါင်း ဒေါ်လာ ၃၀ ပေးဆောင်ရမှာပါ၊ လေကြောင်း နဲ့ ရေကြောင်းက လာရောက်မယ့်သူတွေကတော့ အပေါ်မှာ ပြောထားတဲ့ အတိုင်း ဒေါ်လာ ၄၀ ပေးဆောင်ရမှာ ဖြစ်ပါတယ်၊ တိုးလာတဲ့နှုန်းတွေက ၂၀၂၅ ဘဏ္ဍာနှစ်အတွက်သာ ဖြစ်ပြီး နှစ်စဉ် ငွေကြေး ဖောင်းပွမှု ဘယ်လောက်ရှိလဲအပေါ်မူတည်ပြီး ထပ်မံတိုးမြှင့်သွားနိုင်ချေ ရှိပါတယ်။
