The UK is reducing the number of asylum seekers who arrive on legal visas

The UK government has significantly reduced the number of asylums claims from individuals who arrived through legal routes, thanks to strict immigration laws enacted this year. Previously, most asylum seekers arrived in the UK legally via work, study, or tourist visas and immediately applied for asylum upon arrival. This accounted for up to 37% of total asylum claims in a single year, with students making up the largest group, followed by work visa holders at 29% and tourists at 24%.

Due to stricter screening, the number of rejections for education and skilled worker visas has increased, thereby reducing the number of asylum claims. The asylum minister stated that while the UK will always be open to top international talent, the visa system will not be allowed to be used as a "back door" for claiming asylum. The government has also started a new system of sending reminder messages to international students whose visas are about to expire. These messages warn them to take action to renew their visas, stating that applications without merit will be rejected and those whose visas have expired will face deportation.

Furthermore, the UK government has said that by tightening tourist visa applications from countries with a high rate of visa abuse, they have successfully reduced asylum claims.

ယခုအခါ တင်းကြပ်သော စိစစ်မှုများကြောင့် ပညာရေးဗီဇာ နှင့် ကျွမ်းကျင်လုပ်သားဗီဇာတို့ကို ပယ်ချမှု တိုးလာနေပြီး ခိုလှုံခွင့် တောင်းခံသူ အရေအတွက်ကို လျှော့ချနိုင်ခဲ့ကြောင်း၊ နိုင်ငံတကာမှ ထူးချွန်ထက်မြက်သူများအတွက် အမြဲတမ်း တံခါး ဖွင့်လှစ်ထားမည် ဖြစ်သော်လည်း ဗီဇာစနစ်ကို ခိုလှုံခွင့်အတွက် နောက်ဖေးပေါက်အဖြစ် အသုံးချနေမှုကို ခွင့်ပြုမည် မဟုတ်ဟု ခိုလှုံခွင့်ဆိုင်ရာ ဝန်ကြီးက ပြောကြားခဲ့သည်။ လတ်တလောတွင် ဗီဇာသက်တမ်းကုန်ဆုံးခါနီးသည့် နိုင်ငံတကာ ကျောင်းသားများ ကို မက်ဆေ့ချ်ပို့ကာ သတိပေးသည့် စနစ်တစ်ရပ် စတင်လုပ်ဆောင်နေပြီး အဆိုပါ မက်ဆေ့ချ်တွင် ဗီဇာသက်တမ်းတိုးရေးအတွက် သတိပြု လုပ်ဆောင်ရန်၊ ကျိုးကြောင်းခိုင်လုံမှုမရှိသည့် လျှောက်လွှာများကို ပယ်ချမည့် အပြင် ဗီဇာသက်တမ်းကုန်ပါက ပြည်နှင်ဒဏ် ပေးခြင်း ခံရမည်ဟု ပါရှိသည်။

ထို့အပြင် ဗီဇာ အလွဲသုံးစားလုပ်မှုများ မြင့်မားသည့် နိုင်ငံများမှ ခရီးသွား ဗီဇာလျှောက်ထားမှုကိုလည်း တင်းကြပ်လိုက်ခြင်းကြောင့် ခိုလှုံခွင့်လျှောက်ထားမှုများကို လျှော့ချနိုင်ခဲ့သည်ဟု ယူကေနိုင်ငံက ပြောသည်။
