EB-2 Visa Cap Reached for 2025

The Second-Preference Employment-Based Immigration Visa, commonly known as the EB-2 visa, is for individuals with advanced degrees, exceptional abilities, or those whose work is deemed to be in the national interest. To be eligible for this visa, applicants must hold a master’s degree or higher.

The U.S. government sets a cap on the number of visas issued for each category. The EB-2 visa category is allotted 28.6% of the total employment-based visas each year.

The government announced on September 2 that the visa cap for 2025 has been reached, and as a result, embassies and consulates worldwide will no longer issue this visa for the current fiscal year. Applications for the 2026 fiscal year will be accepted starting on October 1. This development will likely lead to longer processing times for new EB-2 visa applicants.

EB-2 visa လို့ လူသိများတဲ့ Second-Preference Employment-Based Immigration Visa ဟာ ပညာအရည်အချင်း မြင့်မားသူ တွေ၊ ထူးချွန်တဲ့ပညာရှင်တွေနဲ့ နိုင်ငံကို အကျိုးပြုနိုင်မယ်လို့ ယူဆခံရတဲ့သူတွေ လျှောက်ထားနိုင်တဲ့ ဗီဇာအမျိုးအစား ဖြစ်ပါတယ်၊ ဒီဗီဇာရဖို့ဆိုရင် မဟာဘွဲ့ ဒါမှမဟုတ် ဒီထက်မြင့်တဲ့ ပညာအရည်အချင်း ရှိဖို့လိုအပ်ပါတယ်။ အမေရိကန် အစိုးရဟာ ဗီဇာ အမျိုးအစား အလိုက် ထုတ်ပေးနိုင်တဲ့ အရေအတွက်ကို ကန့်သတ်ထားပြီး EB-2 visa အမျိုးအစားကိုတော့ အလုပ်အကိုင် အခြေပြု ဗီဇာ စုစုပေါင်းရဲ့ ၂၈.၆% ကို ထုတ်ပေးဖို့ သတ်မှတ်ထားတာပါ။

EB-2 visa ထုတ်ပေးခဲ့တဲ့ အရေအတွက်ဟာ ခု ဆိုရင် ၂၀၂၅ အတွက် သတ်မှတ်ချက်ကို ပြည့်သွားပြီမို့ ကမ္ဘာတဝန်းက သံရုံးတွေ နဲ့ ကောင်စစ်ဝန်ရုံးတွေကနေ ဒီဗီဇာကို ထပ်မံထုတ်ပေးတော့မှာ မဟုတ်ကြောင်း စက်တင်ဘာ ၂ ရက်နေ့က ကြေညာလာခဲ့ပါတယ်၊ ၂၀၂၆ အတွက် လျှောက်လွှာတွေကိုတော့ အောက်တိုဘာ ၁ ရက်နေ့ကနေ စတင် လက်ခံမှာလို့ သိရပါတယ်၊ ဒါကြောင့် EB-2 visa လျှောက်ထားလိုသူ တွေ ဟာ လျှောက်ထားချိန် ပိုမိုကြာမြင့်လာမှာ ဖြစ်ပါတယ်။
