Two Women in Their 80s Travel the World Together

Reading this news reminded me of the movie "Around the World in 80 Days," which starred Jackie Chan. Now, two women from Texas, both in their 84s, have made their dream of traveling the world come true.

Ellie Hamby, a former director of an organization, and Dr. Sandy Hazelip, a physician, met over 20 years ago in South Africa and later ended up living in the same city of Texas. The two friends planned to travel the world when they were 80, but due to COVID travel restrictions, they had to postpone their trip until they were 81.

Known as the "traveling grandmas," they began their journey in Antarctica and visited all seven continents. A book about their adventures, titled "Here We Go: Lessons for Living Fearlessly from Two Traveling Nanas", is being released today, September 16^th.

ဒီသတင်းကို ဖတ်ပြီး ဂျက်ကီချန်း ပါဝင်သရုပ်ဆောင်ထားတဲ့ ကမ္ဘာပတ်လည် ရက် ၈၀ ကားကို သတိရမိသွားတယ်။ အမေရိကန် တက္ကဆပ် ပြည်နယ်က အသက် ၈၀ ကျော် အမျိုးသမီး ၂ ယောက်ဟာ ကမ္ဘာကြီးကို အတူတူလှည့်ပတ်ဖို့ စိတ်ကူးအိမ်မက်တွေ မက်ခဲ့တာ ခုတော့ အကောင်အထည်ပေါ်လာပါပြီ။

အဖွဲ့အစည်းတစ်ခုက ဒါရိုက်တာဟောင်း အမျိုးသမီးတစ်ယောက် နာမည်က Hamby နဲ့ ဆရာဝန်ဖြစ်သူ နောက်တစ်ယောက်က Hazelip တို့ဟာ လွန်ခဲ့တဲ့ နှစ် ၂၀ ကျော်မှာ တောင်အာဖရိက မှာ တွေ့ဆုံခင်မင်ရင်းနှီးခဲ့ပြီး တစ်မြို့တည်းမှာ နေထိုင်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။ သူတို့ ၂ ယောက်ဟာ အသက် ၈၀ မှာ ကမ္ဘာပတ်ဖို့ စီစဉ်ခဲ့ပေမယ့် ကိုဗစ် ကူးစက်ရောဂါကြောင့် ခရီးသွားလာမှု ကန့်သတ်ချက် တွေ ကြုံတွေ့ခဲ့ရပြီး ၈၁ နှစ် အရွယ်ရောက်မှသာ ခရီးထွက်နိုင်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။

ခရီးသွား အဘွားအိုလို့ လူသိများတဲ့ သူတို့ဟာ အန္တာတိက တိုက်ကနေ ခရီးစတင်ခဲ့ပြီး တိုက်ကြီး ၇ တိုက်စလုံးကို ရောက်ရှိ ခဲ့ပါတယ်။ သူတို့ ၂ ယောက်ရဲ့ စွန့်စားခန်းတွေကို ရေးသားထားတဲ့ Here We Go: Lessons for Living Fearlessly from Two Traveling Nanas လို့ အမည်ပေးထားတဲ့ စာအုပ်ကို စက်တင်ဘာ ၁၆ (ဒီနေ့) မှာ ထုတ်ဝေမှာ ဖြစ်ပါတယ်။
