Vietnam mulls 5 years visa exemption for influencers with 1M+ followers
Vietnam is considering a special five-year visa exemption scheme for social media influencers with over one million followers.
If approved, this plan would allow eligible influencers to visit and reside in Vietnam without a visa for up to five years. However, even if an influencer meets all other criteria, they would not be granted the visa exemption if they have previously made negative comments about the country.
The term "influencers" includes personalities from major social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, so TikTok celebrities would also be eligible.
By inviting these well-known influencers to visit Vietnam without visa hassles, the country hopes to attract more international tourists. The influencers would create content showcasing Vietnam's famous destinations and natural beauty, which would then be shared on their social media channels, drawing a wider global audience.
